Two children drown in pond in KP's Tank

On Saturday, two children lost their lives in Tank district's Garah Baloch area after drowning while bathing in a pond formed by floodwater. The victims, Murtaza Abbas, aged 11, and Shahir Abbas, 8, were cousins. According to Najaf Baloch, a relative, the children had ventured into deeper water amid the intense heat and tragically drowned.

Rescue operations were carried out by residents, but the youngsters could not be revived. Three other children, who were also present in the water, were successfully rescued.

In a separate incident, 12 armed men entered two houses in Ghaibi village, allegedly looting gold jewelry, silver, cash, licensed weapons, and mobile phones. According to Fazlur Rehman, a resident of the Ghaibi area, the suspects arrived in two vehicles with blue emergency lights, claiming they were conducting a search operation for weapons.

They split into groups, some entering Rehman's house and taking his mobile phones, while others targeted his cousin Ghulam Subhani's residence, stealing his family members' phones and valuable possessions.

The suspects also stole over 20 tolas of gold jewelry, 125 tolas of silver, Rs850,000 in cash, and a licensed pistol with a magazine from Rehman's house. They took four mashas of gold jewelry, Rs300,000 in cash, and a gun from Subhani's house before fleeing the scene in the two vehicles. They reportedly opened fire while escaping towards Chashma Road. Police registered a case and initiated an investigation into the armed robbery incident.
