Titans Lose Two Players to Season-Ending Injuries

The Tennessee Titans suffered a significant setback in their preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers, due to two key players being sidelined for the season with injuries. According to ESPN's Turron Davenport, rookie tight end Jaren Kanak and third-year defensive end Jaylen Harrell are both out for the year after tearing their pectoral muscles and ACLs, respectively.

Both players had made notable contributions during the preseason, suggesting they could have played crucial roles for the Titans this season. Kanak, a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, had previously played linebacker at Oklahoma before transitioning to tight end in 2025, recording 44 catches for 533 yards. Harrell, also a seventh-round pick in 2024, showed steady improvement each year, amassing 25 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and a forced fumble during his rookie season, while playing college football at Michigan.

Harrell, who helped Michigan win a national championship from 2020-23, was recognized as All-Big Ten honorable mention. With these injuries, the Titans will now rely heavily on their other tight ends, Gunnar Helm, Daniel Bellinger, Kyle Granson, and David Martin-Robinson, as well as their defensive ends, John Franklin-Myers, Jermaine Johnson II, Keldric Faulk, and Jacob Martin.
