Three Indians unfurl tricolour while skydiving, help set world record in Libya: Reports

Three UAE-based Indians from Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar set a world record for skydiving with national flags while jumping from an aircraft in Libya on August 7, according to media reports. Jamsheer Thanalot, Abhishek Rawat, and Isha Raj were among 65 skydivers participating in the event, which aimed to break the record for the most skydivers jumping together with national flags from a single aircraft.

The group included skydivers from around 38 nationalities, as reported by the Khaleej Times. The event, held on August 7, took place before India's Independence Day and was an attempt to set a new world record. The three Indian skydivers carried their respective national flags while jumping from a military Ilyushin Il-76TD aircraft.

Each skydiver had completed over 1,500 jumps between them, but they found the jump particularly challenging due to the need to control large flags, avoid entanglement with parachutes, maintain a safe distance from other skydivers, and land inside a designated area covered by cameras. The successful attempt was officially recognized by Guinness World Records on August 14.
