This is probably my last year of football, Ronaldo hints retirement

Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted that his football career could come to an end after the 2026-27 season, expressing his desire to leave behind a "spectacular legacy." The 41-year-old Portugal captain made these remarks in a Vogue interview published on Sunday, as he discussed his future plans following his marriage to Georgina Rodríguez.

Ronaldo, who began the new season on August 15, stated that he is already contemplating his life beyond football. "I have my future all mapped out," he said. "I have so many other things to keep me busy that to speak about just one thing is difficult. Because football could leave a big hole, you have to fill your time in various ways, not just one."

The Al-Nassr forward emphasized the importance of enjoying the fruits of his labor. "And also have more fun, travel more, watch and play padel, which I really like, and continue to enjoy what we've earned," he added. Ronaldo has been in the game for 25 years, during which time he achieved significant success with Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and the Portuguese national team.

In the Vogue interview, Ronaldo also discussed his new marriage, saying that he and Rodríguez are eager to spend more time together and with their children. He stated that he has already planned his life after football, suggesting that retirement will mark the beginning of a new phase.
