Actor Suriya has criticized the film industry's fixation on opening-weekend collections, asserting that a movie's true success is measured by the emotions it evokes in its audience. At a success event for his film Vishwanath and Sons, Suriya emphasized that the conversations and feelings shared after watching a film are far more significant than the ticket sales figures.

"Tears, smiles can't be put in a balance sheet," he stated, highlighting the importance of the lasting impact a film can have on its viewers. While acknowledging the importance of the business aspect of filmmaking, Suriya maintained that the emotional resonance of a movie is equally, if not more, crucial. He also praised director Venky Atluri for reaffirming the value of family-oriented films in mainstream cinema.

Atluri's efforts have resulted in additional showings in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, compared to other regions, indicating a strong local appeal. Suriya directly addressed his Telugu audience, attributing the film's success to their enthusiastic support. Notably, Trivikram Srinivas, the chief guest at the event, commended Suriya's performance and alluded to a potential future collaboration between the two actors.
