Tanzid, Hasan and system behind Bangladesh’s historic Darwin win over Australia

Tanzid Hasan and Hasan Mahmud were the star performers for Bangladesh's U-19 cricket team in their historic victory over Australia in Darwin on Sunday. Coach Hannan Sarkar, who has been following Tanzid for 15 years, praised his compact technique and ability to play the ball late against the Australian pace trio, particularly Nathan Lyon.

Tanzid's century was filled with well-timed shots, with one standout moment being his square drive off Pat Cummins for a boundary. Although it was only his second Test match, Sarkar attributes Tanzid's success to his five years of international white-ball cricket, which has given him immense confidence. The team's structural improvements in domestic cricket, such as using the Dukes ball and maintaining consistent grass on the wicket, have also contributed to their success against top-tier opponents.
