Sultan Nazrin graces Perak Merdeka Month programme with 214,095 student entries

IPOH, August 16 — At a recent program in Perak, the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, emphasized the importance of loyalty to the Ruler and the nation during the Perak-level 2026 Merdeka Month celebrations. The event, held at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan, saw an impressive participation rate with 214,095 entries from primary and secondary students, representing 83.6 percent of the Perak student population.

Sultan Nazrin, accompanied by the Raja Permaisuri of Perak Tuanku Zara Salim and other key officials, highlighted the program's success in fostering talent, confidence, and potential among young students. This year marked a 15 percent increase in participation compared to the previous year, underscoring its growing popularity and significance in shaping the future generation.

The Sultan presented awards for various competitions, including Malay Language Public Speaking and English Public Speaking contests, as well as choral speaking and drawing events. The program aims to instill values such as patriotism, critical thinking, and leadership skills among the students, aligning with the Malaysia Education Plan 2026-2035.
