Sharjeel Memon says AJK election results will be remembered as 'Form 47 Plus'

PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif has stated that the upcoming elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will be remembered as "Form 47 Plus." Sharif addressed a PML-N convention in Murree, congratulating the winners of the elections while commiserating with the losing candidates. He emphasized that while political disagreements are common, they should not escalate into animosity.

Sharif noted that the atmosphere in AJK had historically been good, but lamented the growing enmity between the ruling party and its coalition partner, the PPP. He urged the PML-N and PPP to avoid hurting public sentiment during the dispute over the election results. Sharif's daughter, Maryam Nawaz, speaking on behalf of the PPP, rejected the allegations of rigging made by the PPP and asked the party to "consider logic."

She pointed out that the PPP made similar allegations in Gilgit-Baltistan when they won, but not when they lost. Sharjeel Inam Memon, a senior Sindh minister and PPP representative, commented that the elections' results would be remembered in history as "Form 47 Plus," expressing regret over Sharif's statement that he did not expect complaints from the PPP.
