SDAR juara Festival Wind Orchestra SBP 2026, raih Anugerah Emas

SDAR Symphonic Band (SSB) triumphed at the 24th National-level School-Based Full-time Residential (SBP) Wind Orchestra Festival, securing the Golden Award recently. In a competition that saw 17 other bands from across the country, SDAR triumphed over a formidable field. Held from August 11 to 13 at the Main Hall of the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Cultural Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), the event featured SM Sains Sultan Mahmud (SESMA) in second place, followed by Putrajaya's Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah (SAS), Kuala Lumpur's SM Sains Selangor (SMSS), and Sarawak's SM Sains Kuching (SAINSKU).

According to SDAR's media statement, the team's victory was a testament to their discipline, precision, creativity, and unity. This achievement marked SDAR's second gold medal win in consecutive years, following their win at the Asian Music Games Malaysia National Qualifiers on June 7. The band is scheduled to represent the nation at the upcoming Asian Music Games in September.

The awards were presented by the Chairman of the SBP Management Department, Rose Aza Che Arifin, alongside Putrajaya's SAS School Principal Nor Azam Abdullah, who also managed the festival, and UPM's Cultural and Artistic Affairs Chairman Husalshah Rizal Hussian. SDAR Symphonic Band comprised young musicians from woodwind, brass, and percussion sections, contributing to the national and international performances and competitions.
