Saudi National Cybersecurity Authority launches student awareness campaign for new school year

The National Cybersecurity Authority and Ministry of Education have inaugurated a campaign aimed at raising cybersecurity awareness among students and their parents as the new academic year commences. Titled "Back to School Safely," this second edition of the initiative aligns with the opening of schools.

The primary objective of this campaign is to bolster cybersecurity awareness among students and parents, encouraging the adoption of safe practices throughout the academic year. By doing so, the campaign seeks to shield students and their families from emerging cyber threats.

The initiative emphasizes the importance of safe technology usage and educational platform navigation. It also targets the identification and prevention of phishing attempts, as well as the handling of suspicious links and messages utilizing available security tools. Moreover, the campaign underscores the significance of strong passwords, timely security updates, parental controls, two-factor authentication, and secure internet browsing.

To foster a robust cybersecurity culture within the educational community, the campaign disseminates educational materials via the Aman cybersecurity awareness program's social media channels. This enables students and parents to discern phishing attempts, mitigate associated risks, and promote safe usage of electronic devices throughout the school year.

This campaign is an integral part of the National Cybersecurity Authority's ongoing endeavors to enhance cybersecurity awareness across all societal segments, fortify national security, and foster a secure and dependable Saudi cyberspace that fosters growth and prosperity.
