Rookie cornerback Ceyair Wright of the Cincinnati Bengals reportedly left the team to pursue an acting opportunity that he couldn't resist. The Bengals informed the public on Saturday that Wright had left the squad to "pursue other opportunities." In place of Wright, the Bengals signed rookie CB Matthew McDoom. While the Bengals did not provide the specifics of Wright's new path, it is understood that he accepted a major acting role in a lead position in a significant movie, with filming set to continue through late October.

Despite this new direction, Wright has not abandoned his football ambitions and will remain available to play after the completion of filming. During a press conference, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor expressed that Wright had informed the team of his decision, stating it was a "difficult decision for him." Taylor noted that Wright's passion for both football and acting collided, causing him to choose the acting route.

Wright has been acting since a young age, with his breakthrough appearance in "Space Jam: A New Legacy" in 2021, where he portrayed the older son of LeBron James. He had previously acted while balancing his football career at USC and Nebraska. Wright cited the demanding nature of the audition process in acting as a valuable lesson, teaching him to handle mistakes and rejection.

He intends to continue balancing both passions, depending on circumstances after he concludes his football career.
