Ravens’ rookie pass-catchers dazzle in preseason win over Eagles

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 24-7 in a preseason game, with head coach Jesse Minter noting it was a "great experience". Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle led the team to 440 yards and 31 first downs, while defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver oversaw a near-shutout. Special teams, however, struggled with missed field goals and punts.

Rookie quarterback Joe Fagnano made an impressive NFL debut, completing 22 of his 28 passes for 224 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Fagnano downplayed his lone turnover, crediting Eagles cornerback Kelee Ringo for a great play. Rookie tight end Matthew Hibner had a standout performance with a 29-yard catch and a crucial 18-yard touchdown.

Rookie wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane also had a notable game, catching an 18-yard touchdown from Huntley and a 16-yard touchdown from Fagnano. Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley completed six of his seven passes, with five being caught by rookies. Wide receiver Elijah Sarratt led the offense with six catches and 66 yards, though he lost a fumble.

Center Danny Pinter started the game, but his future role remains uncertain, with Minter and Doyle hoping he recovers fully from injury before the next game.
