Picault, Muyumba score goals, Atlanta beats Red Bulls 2-1 to snap 7-game winless skid

Fafà Picault scored the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute, while Tristan Muyumba netted for the second straight game as Atlanta United defeated the New York Red Bulls 2-1 on Saturday night, ending a seven-game winless streak. The Atlanta United team, which had lost two straight games, secured their first victory since a 3-1 home win over Montreal on May 2.

Miguel Almiron put the Red Bulls ahead in the seventh minute with a well-placed header, but Atlanta quickly responded. Picault was left unmarked at the back post and headed the ball into the net. Emil Forsberg gave the Red Bulls the lead early on, but Muyumba equalized for Atlanta in the 69th minute. The Red Bulls, with a 7-8-4 record, have dominated Atlanta in recent meetings, with a 10-3-6 regular season record and a plus-15 goal differential, including a 5-3-3 tally at their home stadium, Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
