Pakistan, seven others condemn Israel’s rejection of Gaza roadmap

On Sunday, Pakistan and seven other Islamic nations condemned Israel's rejection of the Road Map for ending the Gaza conflict, as well as its denial of Palestinian statehood. The joint statement from the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates stated that Israel's stance directly repudiated the Comprehensive Plan, jeopardizing its implementation and undermining collective efforts for a just and lasting peace.

They emphasized that Israel now bears responsibility for obstructing peace efforts in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The ministers highlighted the Road Map as a significant milestone for weapons decommissioning, Israeli force withdrawal, International Stabilization Force deployment, National Committee for the Administration of Gaza authority transfer, and territory reconstruction, as outlined in the Comprehensive Plan.

Rejecting the Road Map was deemed an explicit refusal to proceed with the Comprehensive Plan's implementation, threatening President Trump's efforts to end the war in Gaza and establish conditions for lasting peace. The ministers stressed the importance of continued US engagement to ensure Israel's full compliance with the Comprehensive Plan and its Road Map commitments, and to prevent further obstruction.

They reaffirmed the urgent need for the comprehensive plan's immediate and full implementation to address Gaza's dire humanitarian situation, ensure security and stability, and pave the way for reconstruction, recovery, and a just, lasting peace grounded in Palestinian self-determination and statehood, in line with international law.
