Operation Toofan: Anti-narcotics drive to be intensified during Onam, warns Chennithala

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala - Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has announced that the anti-narcotics drive, Operation Toofan, will be ramped up during the upcoming Onam festival, warning drug dealers against engaging in illicit activities. Chennithala revealed that the second phase of Operation Toofan will commence after Onam, with ten times the intensity.

In a video message, he praised Operation Toofan's success and credited the public and police for its achievements. He emphasized that the unity of the public and police has proven crucial in combating the drug mafia. Chennithala stressed that if individuals remain vigilant and report suspicious drug activity, the drug mafia can be entirely eradicated.

He warned that political organizations cannot protect drug offenders, as offenders will face severe consequences, including imprisonment. Operation Toofan has already resulted in an average of six arrests per hour, with total arrests reaching 10,000. The drive has become a national model, with major hospitals in Kerala preparing to offer "Toofan Care" to individuals seeking to overcome drug addiction.
