Naveen Jindal Unfurls 108-Foot Monumental Flags at Mohali and Kurukshetra, Calls on Youth to Put Nation First

As India approached its 80th Independence Day, Naveen Jindal, President of the Flag Foundation of India and Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra, hoisted a massive 108-foot National Flag at universities in Mohali and Kurukshetra. The Kurukshetra event was a celebration of the My Bharat Quiz, which involved more than 7,000 young participants.

Jindal shared his personal experience with the National Flag, recounting the legal battle he faced when attempting to display it at the Jindal Steel plant in Raigarh after returning from the United States. This struggle eventually led to the Supreme Court's landmark ruling on January 23, 2004, which granted every Indian the fundamental right to fly the National Flag with dignity.

Jindal emphasized that the Tricolour belongs to every citizen and serves as an emblem of national pride, unity, and devotion. He proposed declaring Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's birth anniversary, celebrated as Parakram Diwas on January 23, as National Flag Day. Jindal lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Har Ghar Tiranga initiative and encouraged people to properly recycle and dispose of old, faded, or damaged flags.

The Kurukshetra event was attended by university officials, and three champions of the My Bharat Quiz were honored. At the Mohali gathering, CGC University's founder and chancellor, Shri Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, and Vice-Chancellor Shri Vinay Kumar Goyal were present. Jindal called upon the youth to embody the spirit of the National Flag daily, urging them to prioritize the nation above all else and strive for a stronger, developed India.
