National Assembly Speaker’s Son Earns Tamgha-i-Imtiaz

The son of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Professor Dr. (Dental) Sardar Muhammad Ali, has been recognized with the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz award. A leading ophthalmologist and a fellow at the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), Dr. Ali is also the Head of the Institute at Sardar Trust Eye Hospital. This prestigious award, among Pakistan's highest civilian honors, was bestowed upon 355 individuals for their exceptional contributions in various fields such as science, engineering, education, medicine, arts, literature, sports, journalism, social welfare, philanthropy, and public service.

Additionally, President Asif Ali Zardari approved military awards for 1,172 armed forces personnel. Among the recipients of the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz are notable figures like Dr. Sajjad Hussain, the focal person for One Health and Antibiotic Resistance (AMR), Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Jaffery from PIEAS, Dr Urooj Saeed, a GIS specialist, Dr Muhammad Sadiq, the Vice Chancellor of Punjab Engineering College Peshawar, and Prof Dr Naeem-ul-Haq Tariq, a Principal Engineer at PIEAS.

The education sector is also well-represented in the honours list, with recipients like Prof Dr Nasir Mahmood, the Vice Chancellor of the All India Institute of Oriental University (AIOU), Prof Dr Faisal Bari, the Dean of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), and Prof Dr Ghazala Yasmeen, the Vice Chancellor of Women University Mardan and Swabi.

The Tamgha-i-Imtiaz is a significant recognition for distinguished contributions in diverse sectors, and this year's list also includes a special remission of sentences for eligible prisoners as part of Independence Day-related decisions.
