National and State Vendors Meet held under PMSG:MBY at Kolkata West Bengal to Boost Rooftop Solar Adoption under PM-Surya Ghar in West Bengal

The National Vendor Meet under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGY) took place on August 13, 2026, at the Hotel Taj Bengal in Kolkata, West Bengal. The event aimed to bolster the implementation of the scheme and expedite rooftop solar installations throughout the state. The meeting was chaired by Santanu Basu, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Power Department, Government of West Bengal.

Alongside officials from REC Ltd, CESC, the Government of West Bengal, State and National Vendors, and Training Partners, the gathering included the Principal Secretary, Power Department, Government of West Bengal, who emphasized the importance of further strengthening PMSG:MBY implementation through active participation and coordinated efforts from both State and National Vendors.

REC Ltd, serving as the Nodal Agency for PMSG:MBY, presented its perspective on the scheme and urged National Vendors to deploy adequate manpower and expand their channel partner network across West Bengal. REC Ltd assured stakeholders of its commitment to support expedite rooftop solar installations, addressing vendor, consumer, and DISCOM issues.

Additionally, Devinder (DGM REC) and Raman Garg (DGM, REC) presented a focused presentation on increasing vendor participation, ensuring RTS plant quality, vendor rating, and outlined provisions for training and capacity building of vendors under PMSGY in West Bengal. The National Vendor Meet served as a crucial platform for stakeholders to discuss implementation-related issues, enhance coordination, and identify measures to accelerate the pace of rooftop solar installations under the scheme.
