Las Vegas Aces forward NaLyssa Smith continued to bolster her case for Most Improved Player of the Year, contributing a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds in the team's loss to Minnesota Lynx. This marked her third double-double in five games. The former No. 2 Draft pick was the only reliable support for four-time star A'ja Wilson, who scored 32 points along with seven rebounds and three steals against Minnesota's potent offense led by Olivia Miles, Napheesa Collier, and Kayla McBride.

Smith and Wilson combined for a 17-for-28 field goal percentage. The rest of the team managed 14-for-41 shooting, with Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray contributing 8-for-26. The Aces, currently third in the standings, were seeking a statement win against the Lynx, who had tied the season series.
