Marhaba marks the beginning of a connected Education City journey

As Qatar Foundation marks another academic year, the Marhaba event transcends mere orientation. It signifies the onset of a journey into an interconnected higher-education community. Students from eight universities, over 100 countries, and various academic disciplines converge at Education City for the first time. Dr Abdulnassir Al-Tamimi, Executive Director of Student Services at QF Higher Education, emphasized Marhaba's significance, student wellbeing, the multiversity model, entrepreneurship, employability, and Qatar Foundation's priorities in preparing students for a rapidly evolving future.

Marhaba serves as the initial point where new students comprehend what makes Education City unique and recognize themselves as part of a larger, interconnected community. Each year, Qatar Foundation gathers students from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Marhaba aids students in transitioning to university life by introducing them to the academic, personal, and social support available throughout Education City.

It also sets the tone that the university experience should be about more than obtaining a degree; it should be about personal growth, meaningful relationships, discovery, contribution, and realizing one's full potential.

This year's Marhaba theme centers on navigating uncertainty and building resilience. Students are encouraged to understand that challenges are part of life but can be overcome with the right mindset, skills, and support. Current students and alumni share their journeys, including the challenges they faced and the lessons they learned. Ultimately, Marhaba aims to convey the message that students are not just joining a university; they are becoming part of the Qatar Foundation community.
