Kitchen-Sune: A Community Cookbook

This submission originates from the Frontend Challenge - Comfort Food Edition, Perfect Landing What I Built This. It is a community-driven international recipe book called Kitchen-Sune, created in collaboration with Front-End Foxes members. As the pandemic forced the nonprofit to shift from in-person workshops to an online boot camp, the team combined comfort food recipes from around the world into a user-friendly Vuepress web application. The app welcomes food enthusiasts and developers alike to explore new dishes.

The compilation includes recipes from Ukraine, Kenya, Nigeria, and more. Featured dishes include Jalebi Babies, Moin-Moin, Puff Puff, and Strawberry Mush. The demo is accessible through a live demo, while the GitHub repository is available at https://github.com/FrontEndFoxes/kitchen-sune.

Revisiting this project was a nostalgic experience, highlighting the significance of crafting inclusive and user-friendly web interfaces for diverse content. The team used the recipe book as an educational tool for trainees in GitHub and making pull requests to the repository.

The project instilled a profound sense of pride in the timeless and clean aesthetic, making it easy for anyone to find a comforting meal to prepare or a snack to whip up. Looking ahead, the community is encouraged to contribute their own recipes by submitting pull requests to the GitHub repository. Additionally, the organizers would appreciate more photos to showcase the contributors' work.
