I've decided to take back control of my brain in the era of ai

to write is to think. think for me. whir-buzz-and-spin until the content is complete. while I stare blankly at the terminal fleet. it's ok, i say. another task done fast. i'll use my brain next time. but for now, this will pass. write a quick script, run, remove the em—dash. actually, too lazy for that. claude, pls remove them /fast. post the content everywhere, linkedin, reddit, i don't care.…

I've decided to take back control of my brain in the age of AI. To write is to think, and over the past year, I've increasingly relied on AI to assist with coding, writing content, and system design. While AI can be a helpful tool, I've come to realize that excessive use is leading to a pattern of laziness and delegation of my own thinking.

As I write this, I recognize that I need to address this issue and regain control of my own cognitive abilities. In this post, I commit to writing all future blog posts on dev.to without using AI. This project will involve writing features, tests, scripts, and even LeetCode problems myself, and manually creating diagrams when necessary.

While the content may not be perfect, it will be an authentic reflection of my original thoughts and ideas. I encourage others to join me in this effort to reclaim our brains and think and write independently in an era dominated by AI.
