I’ll not disappoint you, Adeleke tells Osun residents after re-election

Osun State's Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has pledged to his constituents that he will not let them down following his re-election for a second term. Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Adeleke assured residents that he would build upon his successes and rectify his shortcomings during his second tenure. The governor made his statement after the Independent National Electoral Commission confirmed his victory in the August 15 governorship election.

Adeleke credited the triumph to the unwavering support of Osun residents, who endured significant pressures during the election period. He promised to reinforce his strengths and address his errors under his renewed five-point agenda. The governor also expressed gratitude towards supporters of democracy and the media for their backing.

Adeleke's administration aims to continue fostering development and good governance while reaching out to his opponents. With 19 out of 30 local government areas under his control, Adeleke secured a narrow victory against his main rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 444,815 votes. Najeem Salam of the African Democratic Congress rounded out the top three with 17,180 votes.
