I ran 200 miles wearing these armless prescription sunglasses — here are 5 things I love and 2 I don’t

I was captivated by armless sunglasses after my first use, as they solved the common issue of sunnies bouncing or slipping during runs. This feature has proven beneficial for me, especially during a recent heatwave when the sunglasses remained dark enough for bright sunlight, while still being clear when indoors on a treadmill or in a forest with variable light conditions.

Thirdly, the Teton glasses offer photochromic lenses, which darken quickly in sunny conditions but become clear when indoors or in lower light. This feature is ideal for my needs as a runner in the UK, who often encounters tree cover and changing light conditions. I have found these lenses to be particularly useful during a recent heatwave, offering the perfect balance of sun protection and glare reduction.

Fourthly, the corded design of the Teton sunglasses makes them incredibly easy to pack. The glasses can be compressed flat and stored in a padded pouch, making them convenient for travel. During my trips while testing the glasses, they fit easily into the side pocket of my rucksack or suitcase without risking damage to the arms, as there are none to worry about.

Lastly, while I appreciate the look of sporty wraparound sunglasses for training, the Ombraz Teton are a stylish pair of sunglasses that are perfect for general use. They have a larger frame, which is common among the Ombraz collection, but I find this style appealing for everyday wear. The price point for prescription Teton sunglasses is higher than standard pairs, but it is comparable to many other top-tier sunglasses brands.
