Hybrid super white gyrfalcon sells for SAR 1.3m at 2026 auction

A hybrid super white gyrfalcon sold for SAR 1.3 million at the 2026 International Falcon Farms Auction held in Malham, north of Riyadh. This was the year's most expensive falcon to be sold at the event, organized by the National Center for Falcons and featuring leading falcon farms from across the globe. The auction showcased a variety of falcons, including two Canadian-bred falcons which combined for a total sale price of SAR 1.45 million.

The first bird, a pure gyrfalcon, was purchased for SAR 150,000 while the second, a hybrid gyrfalcon, quickly rose to the top as the second most valuable falcon in the auction's history. Last year, an American farm's super white gyrfalcon fetched SAR 1.2 million in competitive bidding. The prestigious auction has a history of selling top-tier falcons, with the highest recorded price being SAR 1.75 million for a pure ultra white gyrfalcon chick.

The event, which runs until August 25, 2026, is accessible to falconers, breeders, and enthusiasts from Saudi Arabia and around the world, providing a live broadcast on television and social media platforms.
