Hezbollah a major obstacle to Lebanon’s economic recovery, says US State Department

The US State Department has pinpointed Hezbollah as the primary hurdle to Lebanon's economic resurgence, emphasizing the necessity of Hezbollah's disarmament. The department highlighted that eradicating Hezbollah's armed status is a crucial element in concluding risk removal initiatives in designated pilot regions. The US also expressed anticipation for the Lebanese Armed Forces to finish risk removal tasks in these pilot zones, which are considered a feasible means to attain peace between Lebanon and Israel.

Tragically, on Saturday, the Israeli military conducted ongoing airstrikes on Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals, comprising three children and two women. The Lebanese government vehemently denounced the strikes, which did not focus on Hezbollah's military installations and led to the loss of innocent civilian lives.
