'Go after terrorists wherever they are': Doval reveals PM Modi’s brief on Op Sindoor

In the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval shed light on the strategic objectives and execution of Operation Sindoor, a 88-hour military operation aimed at dismantling the terrorist infrastructure responsible for the incident. Doval recounted how Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted immediately upon learning of the attack, demanding to know the facts and questioning Doval about the perpetrators' identity.

Recalling the intense atmosphere following the Pahalgam massacre, Doval quoted Modi's resolute declaration, stating that India would not forgive those responsible, regardless of their location - whether on earth, in the sky, or underground. Doval affirmed that India's intelligence agencies played a crucial role in swiftly identifying the perpetrators, enabling a precise and decisive response to the attack.

With a clear objective to eliminate the enemy camps linked to the Pahalgam attack, which occurred on April 22, 2025, resulting in the loss of 26 innocent lives, Doval emphasized that India was prepared to take any necessary steps to safeguard its sovereignty. The operation was not to be mistaken for weakness, but rather a testament to India's growing technological and military capabilities, he added.

Doval stressed that India's tolerance should not be misconstrued as a sign of vulnerability. The terrorists had brazenly taunted the Indian leadership, daring it to retaliate after singling out their victims based on their faith. The operation aimed to send a strong message to the Pakistan Army that India would not tolerate support for terrorism or inaction against terrorists.
