Gemini now lets you turn off the visible watermark on your AI creations — here's how to do it, and how your content is still flagged as AI

The option to hide watermarks is available for images made with the Nano Banana AI model, videos made with Omni, and songs made with Lyria, but not in countries where visible watermarks are legally required, such as China.
Despite the optional removal of watermarks, Gemini will still embed embedded, invisible AI watermarks as well as C2PA metadata to maintain transparency. These watermarks help identify AI-generated content even when the visible logo is absent. To disable watermarks in Gemini on the web, users can click the cog icon (lower left) and select "Media watermark."
Although the toggle is not yet available in mobile apps, it is expected to appear in settings soon. Users can further verify if an AI-generated creation has been made using AI by asking Gemini to analyze the file, as the invisible watermarks will still be present.
