Gatundu South MP Kagombe begs Gachagua to embrace him days after quitting UDA

Gatundu South MP Kagombe has reached out to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, requesting forgiveness and acceptance after departing from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). The appeal came as Kagombe sought to clarify his political transition and his departure from President William Ruto's administration. Kagombe expressed regret for bad lies he claims were spread, stating he is now "home" and seeking mercy.

His plea to Gachagua follows an internal reflection on the past four years and his desire for Gachagua's forgiveness. Kagombe accused Ruto of misleading both politicians and voters, including Gachagua himself and 7 million others. The MP's political future now appears secure within the evolving alliances of the Mt Kenya region ahead of the 2027 General Election.

However, Gachagua responded by asking Kagombe to first seek forgiveness from Gatundu South residents. Kagombe won the parliamentary seat in 2022 on a UDA ticket, receiving 17,825 votes, which constituted 22.3% of all registered voters in the constituency.
