50 years of Rocky!
Philadelphia, United States - January 19, 2024 - In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the iconic movie "Rocky," fans have a variety of ways to immerse themselves in the underdog tale this autumn.
On November 1st, the film "I Play Rocky" will hit theaters nationwide, chronicling how young Sylvester Stallone penned the screenplay for "Rocky" inspired by his own experiences as a writer and actor. He staunchly refused to cast a different actor in the lead role.
In addition to the film, fans can partake in the annual Rocky Run, a race event that begins and ends at the famous Philadelphia Museum of Art steps famously ascended by Rocky Balboa in every movie.
For literature enthusiasts, there are several Rocky-related books available, including Stallone's own reflections, an examination of the 50th anniversary of "Rocky," and even an autobiography by Dolph Lundgren, who played Ivan Drago in "Rocky IV."
The standout experience, however, is undoubtedly the Yo, Philly! Film Tour, led by talent Mike Kunda. Kunda's private tour takes fans to iconic locations featured in all of the "Rocky" films, offering an unparalleled insight into the making of the movie. One enthusiastic spectator even praised Kunda as the best authority on Stallone and "Rocky" out there.
