Embassy marks Pakistan's 80th Independence Day

Doha, Qatar - The Pakistani Embassy in Qatar on Friday celebrated Pakistan's 80th Independence Day with a flag-raising ceremony that resonated with patriotic fervor. Hundreds of Pakistani community members gathered at the Embassy premises to participate in the event.

Ambassador Muhammad Aamer raised the national flag, followed by the collective recitation of the National Anthem. Armed Forces personnel stationed in Qatar took part in the ceremony as well. Messages of congratulations from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Affairs Minister of Pakistan were read to the audience.

Ambassador Aamer expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani community for their unwavering support. He emphasized that Independence Day renews national spirit and reinforces the collective commitment to progress and prosperity. The Ambassador reminded the attendees of Pakistan's freedom being a result of sacrifices made by its forefathers, urging everyone to respect the principles of unity, faith, and discipline.

Aamer highlighted the strong ties between Pakistan and Qatar, expressing appreciation to the Emir H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for his support during regional challenges. He praised Qatar for hosting over 350,000 Pakistani expatriates, calling them an "indispensable living bridge" whose contributions benefit Qatar's development. The Ambassador assured the community that the Embassy will continue to work towards their welfare.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for peace, progress, prosperity, and solidarity in Pakistan.
