Eight Muslim countries condemn Israel's rejection of Trump's Gaza plan as Kushner lands in Israel

Eight Muslim nations, including the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, have united in condemnation of Israel's refusal to accept President Donald Trump's plan for postwar Gaza. The joint statement, which emphasized the plan's fundamental undermining of collective efforts towards a just and enduring peace, was signed during the recent visit of Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and adviser, to the Middle East.

Kushner's trip to Israel followed meetings with Hamas leaders in Cairo, where officials from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey also participated. Nikolay Mladenov, chairman of the Board of Peace for Gaza, attended some of these meetings as well. In response to the rejection of the plan, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party accused the eight countries of attempting to overtake Netanyahu by inviting figures like Gadi Eisenkot, a former IDF Chief of Staff, and Yair Golan, a Democrats chairman, to fulfill their demands.

Netanyahu firmly stated that Israel would not accept the 15-point roadmap presented by Trump's Board of Peace, insisting that the IDF would remain in Gaza until Hamas is disarmed.

The eight foreign ministers who signed the statement called upon the Board of Peace to take immediate and concrete measures to protect the roadmap's integrity and prevent any party from hindering its implementation. They reaffirmed their commitment to the two-state solution, asserting that a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace could only be realized through the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.
