Egyptian government announces new system for issuing work permits to foreigners

The Ministry of Labor in Egypt is set to introduce a new system for issuing work permits to foreigners, aiming to launch it through a unified electronic platform and dedicated service center. This initiative is part of the ministry's broader efforts to modernize and digitize foreign work permit services, signaling a transition to a fully digital model.

The Minister of Labor, Hassan Raddad, met with a delegation from the Tarabot Government Services Company, led by Mohamed Abdel-Dayem, to discuss the project's progress and prepare for the system's launch.

During the meeting, both parties reviewed the current status of the project, focusing on the development of the service center and the necessary infrastructure for the digital system. The new system is designed to streamline the work permit process for foreigners, encompassing the entire lifecycle, from company registration and accreditation to the issuance of the permit and public verification.

The objective is to create a seamless and integrated electronic system that links all stages of the service, enhancing efficiency and reducing the time and effort required for procedures.

The Ministry of Labor emphasized that this digital transformation aligns with the broader goal of expanding digital governance in service delivery, aiming to expedite processes while maintaining accuracy and compliance with legal standards. This initiative is expected to bolster the investment climate and solidify Egypt's position as a digitally advanced nation.
