DVLA Compliance Officers to hit roads next week to enforce vehicle safety regulations

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) plans to increase road enforcement efforts to remove unroadworthy vehicles from Ghana's roads. Chief Executive Officer Julius Neequaye Kotey announced that compliance officers will be on the roads daily, rather than just on selected days. The intensified enforcement aims to ensure vehicles meet safety and regulatory requirements, addressing growing concerns about dangerous vehicles on the roads.

DVLA officers will inspect various aspects of vehicles, including window tints, tire conditions, and brake pads, as well as use technology to identify cloned vehicles and those with unpaid fees. The CEO also warned that DVLA will investigate and close private vehicle testing stations that issue certificates for unroadworthy vehicles.

The DVLA seeks public support for the enforcement efforts to remove unfit vehicles from Ghanaian roads.
