Cowboys undrafted receiver Camden Brown follows strong training camp with two preseason TDs

Undrafted Cowboys wide receiver Camden Brown has been making a strong impression during training camp, and his efforts paid off in Saturday's preseason game. In his debut, Brown showcased his skills by catching all three passes thrown his way, for a total of 62 yards and two touchdowns. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer praised Brown's dedication, stating that the young player is doing everything needed to make the team.

Schottenheimer emphasized that Brown's performance is consistent with his work ethic in practice, highlighting his contributions on special teams and in drill situations.

Brown's journey to the Cowboys began at Auburn, where he struggled to secure playing time over three seasons. He transferred to Georgia Southern, where he excelled, catching 65 passes for 1,079 yards and leading the Sun Belt Conference with 14 touchdown catches. Despite his success at Georgia Southern, Brown remained confident in his abilities, stating that he believes the ball is always meant for him. This mindset, he said, has been with him since his days at both Auburn and Georgia Southern.

With a crowded wide receiver room, the Cowboys currently feature starters CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Ryan Flournoy, along with punt and kickoff return specialist Kavontae Turpin. While this leaves limited roster spots for additional wide receivers, Brown's strong showing in the preseason suggests he is a strong candidate to make the final 53-player roster. If he continues to perform at this level, it will be difficult for the Cowboys to resist including Brown among their long-term offensive weapons.
