‘CM will have to resign if…’: Jharkhand protesters announce march to Soren residence

Jharkhand student protesters, part of the JPSC-JSSC Reform Manch, declared their 19th day of protest on Sunday with a new demand: the Chief Minister's resignation. The group, which has been clashing with police and planning to burn effigies, announced four principal demands: cancellation of specific examinations and involvement of the CBI.

If the government fails to meet their demands by August 20, the students warned of marching to the Chief Minister's residence. The announcement marks a shift in strategy, with students moving away from Gandhian principles and adopting a more militant stance. The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) denied allegations of exploitation by external interests, stating they have been addressing the issue from the start.
