CJP claims questions on youth protests, NEET, police action disallowed in Lok Sabha

Cockroach Janta Party chief spokesperson, Saurav Das, has asserted that three sets of questions regarding CJP-led youth protests were rejected during the recent Monsoon Session of Parliament in the Lok Sabha. In an X post, Das mentioned that DMK MP Matheswaran V.S. submitted three sets of questions to the Union home ministry and education ministry, listed under notice references 101799 and 101801.

According to Das, the questions sought answers about six matters: the refund of NEET-UG 2026 application fees, public distrust in the government, denial of water and sanitation facilities to CJP protesters in Delhi, the government’s engagement with protesting students and youth, student welfare, paper leaks, and education reforms, as well as the treatment of citizens exercising their right to peaceful protest.

Das criticized the reasons provided for the disallowance of the questions, calling them "very bizarre justifications for perfectly legitimate questions." He questioned the accountability of the government if these inquiries could not be addressed in Parliament and inquired about the absence of Home Minister Amit Shah during the protests to provide answers on police actions against demonstrators.

Das emphasized the importance of MPs questioning the government as a cornerstone of parliamentary democracy, stating that "The right of an MP to question the Executive is not some procedural nuisance but is actually the heart of parliamentary democracy." He accused the government of attempting to silence Parliament and failing to address the concerns of young protesters, asserting that "You can’t gag the Parliament and make it a rubber-stamp for your half-baked policies. You cannot ignore the youth. This is not our idea of India!"
