OpenAI has now announced that ChatGPT will soon possess the ability to remember user activity across various apps and websites on Mac systems. Known as Computer History, this feature creates memories and a timeline that ChatGPT and Codex can reference.
Users can inquire about recent work, resume tasks, recognize patterns in their workflow, and transform routine operations into skills or automation. However, Computer History does not capture screenshots, screen recordings, microphone input, or system audio. It remains disabled by default and is exclusively available to ChatGPT Pro, Business, or Enterprise users utilizing the desktop app on macOS.
Additionally, administrators must grant access to Business or Enterprise users before they can activate the feature. Users also have the option to exclude certain sites and apps from being recorded.
