Charleston Senior Men’s City Championship entry deadline this week

The entry deadline for the 2026 Charleston Senior Men's City Championship is quickly approaching, with submissions due by 5 p.m. on August 21. The prestigious tournament will be held from September 11 to 13 at the Charleston Municipal Golf Course. Open to male amateurs aged 50 and above who have called Charleston, Berkeley, or Dorchester counties home as of that date, the event features three divisions: Senior Championship for ages 50-59, Super Senior Championship for ages 60-69, and Super Super Senior Championship for ages 70 and older.

Each division plays from designated tees and competes in a flighted format after 36 holes. Defending champion Matt Wood secured his second title in 2025, narrowly beating Matt Laydon by a single shot. In the Super Senior division, Tadd Brown triumphed in a playoff against Tony Morelli and Sean McAvoy after a three-way tie. Meanwhile, John Frye claimed victory in the Super Super Seniors division, outscoring Warren Peper by three strokes.
