Black Princesses depart Ghana for Poland ahead of FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

Ghana's national football team for under-20 women, known as the Black Princesses, have left Accra for Krakow, Poland in preparation for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The team's head coach Charles Sampson and his technical staff joined 17 players on Sunday, 16 August, while the remaining members of the squad are anticipated to follow later.

The team's journey to Poland is not merely a physical relocation, but a strategic move to fine-tune their preparation for the global tournament. The Black Princesses will engage in a series of international friendly matches in Poland, providing coach Sampson with opportunities to evaluate his squad, experiment with various tactical approaches, and finalize his game plans ahead of Ghana's opening fixture.

The tournament is set to commence with a match against Ecuador scheduled for 6 September, after which the team will face Korea Republic and France in their remaining Group Stage matches. Ghana's ambition is to capitalize on their time in Poland by enhancing their match fitness, strengthening team cohesion, and gaining crucial experience against international opponents.
