Akershus kritisk til Nye Oslo S

Akershus fylkeskommune has formally protested against Bane Nor Eiendoms proposal for the new Oslo S station, highlighting the absence of a plan for a sustainable, future-oriented bus terminal in the proposal, according to documents obtained by E24. Solveig Schytz, a county councilor for planning, cultural heritage, climate, and the environment in Akershus, emphasized the need for a functional bus terminal solution in the long term.

The county argues that the Oslo S station should not only serve Oslo but also function as a collective hub for the Østlandsregion and the rest of the country. Akershus Fylkeskommune warns of increased costs if the plan does not account for future bus terminal solutions, as a rushed decision could limit the development of collective traffic and lead to higher expenses later on.

The proposal includes a 100-meter skyscraper, with an alternative of 82 meters, intended for office and/or hotel purposes, with a maximum utilization of 38,900 or 42,200 square meters. The skyscraper would be built where the Flytog terminal currently stands, accompanied by a new annex between Oslo Central Station and Østbanehallen.

Schytz stated that it is possible to find solutions that combine real estate development and commercial interests with collective transport needs. However, Bane Nor Eiendom claims that their commercial areas in the skyscraper are above the station and not in spatial conflict with the county's wishes. They assert that they have not investigated how a bus terminal could be connected to the base and that incorporating a bus terminal over the tracks is not natural due to the potential significant consequences for the railway in the construction phase.

The Akershus Fylkeskommune is part of the Oslo S planning cooperation and has the right to submit a protest due to its national or regional significance. However, other parties, such as the Riksantikvaren and Statens vegvesen, have also submitted protests, and the Plan- og Bygningetaten has not recommended the proposal, suggesting it should not be publicly presented in its initial stage.
