X-Men Cast, VisionQuest Trailer: All the Big Marvel News Out of D23

Disney's D23 fan convention featured a slew of big Marvel news, including announcements for two highly anticipated movies. The cast of the upcoming X-Men film was finally revealed, with Jean Grey, Cyclops/Scott Summers, Emma Frost, Professor Charles Xavier, Rogue, and Storm joining the roster. Kit Connor, Sadie Sink, Samara Weaving, Christopher Abbott, Inde Navarrette, and Maya Boyd respectively portrayed these iconic characters.

However, Adam Driver initially appeared to cast as Magneto, only to later admit he was cast as Nathaniel Milbury, a Mr. Sinister alias. Adam Driver's Storm casting had been a subject of much speculation, given her extensive history in both the X-Men and Avengers sagas. The X-Men film is set to release on May 5, 2028, and will be part of the next crossover movie, Doomsday, alongside the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and original X-Men.

At the convention, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, and Hayley Atwell also unveiled the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, featuring a star-studded lineup of heroes, villains, and cameos. The trailer showcased the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men battling Doctor Doom's Sentinel robots and included a brief appearance of Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), and Ian McKellen (Magneto).

Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) even managed a short video appearance to plead for a role in the movie, but Feige remained elusive. Additionally, the VisionQuest trailer was announced, starring Paul Bettany as Vision and James Spader as Ultron. The trailer began with Vision discovering a heart carved into a table, leading him to question his identity and what makes humans unique.

Bettany emphasized that in the Marvel universe, death is never truly final, cautioning that "what or perhaps who is he exactly?" The VisionQuest trailer is set to premiere during the Disney Upfronts in May, with no footage released yet.
