Where is Paul Biya? World’s oldest president’s prolonged absence from Cameroon raises concerns

President Paul Biya, who has been the leader of Cameroon since 1982, has been away from the country since June. Cameroonian authorities claim that Biya is in Geneva, Switzerland, on a "brief stay." However, Biya's lengthy absence from Cameroon has raised questions among the public and the media about his health and governance. Biya, who is 93 years old, first took office in 1984, after winning the first multiparty election in Cameroon.

He has held the presidency for about four decades, which makes him the world's oldest president. Despite numerous allegations of election fraud in Biya's disputed eighth term, he has continued to make important decisions from abroad, including a recent military reshuffle.

The situation in Cameroon has become a topic of concern, especially among the younger generation who have known Biya as their only president. Cameroonian citizens like Abit Riassai Acha, a 26-year-old doctoral student, have grown up under Biya's leadership and are questioning the leadership of the man who has been absent for two months.
