Watson leads Cleveland on 2 scoring drives in 34-10 preseason loss to Chicago

Deshaun Watson sparked Cleveland's offense with two early scoring drives in the first half of Saturday's 34-10 preseason defeat at Chicago. Shedeur Sanders contributed to the effort by throwing an errant interception in the fourth quarter of each team's preseason opener. The quarterbacks are competing for the starting job under head coach Todd Monken, who returned to training camp this month after taking over in January.

Watson completed 11 of 15 passes for 126 yards in his first game since October 2024, while Sanders went 6 for 11 for 79 yards in the third quarter and early fourth quarter. Cleveland got on the board first, thanks to a 14-yard touchdown run by rookie running back KC Concepcion on an end-around play. Browns wide receiver Caleb Williams, who thrived under coach Ben Johnson last season, watched from the sidelines as Chicago rested most of its starters.
