Watch: Three Indian expats in UAE fly Indian flag at 13,000ft in Guinness World Records skydive

Three Indian nationals living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) soared to new heights by performing the most daring skydive ever recorded, setting a Guinness World Record. Jamsheer Thanalot, Abhishek Rawat, and Isha Raj, all from India, joined a group of 65 skydivers from various countries to parachute from a Military Ilyushin Il-76TD aircraft at 13,000 feet above Libya on August 7. These three were the only Indian participants among the 65 skydivers, making their accomplishment even more impressive.

The trio's record-breaking feat was officially recognized on August 14, coinciding with India's 80th Independence Day celebrations. Each participant carried their respective national flag during the jump, as required for the record. This demanding task required a unique level of coordination, as the skydivers had to exit the aircraft almost simultaneously and land within a designated zone. With no margin for error, the skydivers underwent rigorous training and preparation before attempting the record.

Abhishek Rawat, a product design lead with a digital healthcare solutions company in Abu Dhabi and a skydiving coach, expressed his pride in achieving this historic milestone. Isha Raj, an account director with a UK-based financial communications firm in Abu Dhabi, highlighted the personal aspect of the achievement as she and her husband, Abhishek, made history together. Jamsheer Thanalot, who runs an e-commerce business in Dubai, credited veteran Emirati skydiver Saif Matar for his support during the attempt.
