University Of Sheffield Scholarship: Indian Students To Get £7,000 Tuition Fee Discount For September 2027 Postgraduate Courses; Check Eligibility

The University of Sheffield in the UK has introduced a £7,000 tuition fee scholarship for international postgraduate students from countries like India who wish to commence eligible postgraduate courses in September 2027. Known as the International Postgraduate Scholarship 2027, this fee waiver is automatically granted to eligible students, eliminating the need for a separate application process.

Scholarship eligibility extends to students from India, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Nigeria, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, and Vietnam. The scholarship covers eligible postgraduate taught programmes starting in September 2027, with the deadline for acceptance of offers by students being July 6, 2027, at 4 pm UK time. Accepted students must be permanent residents or have lived in one of the eligible countries for the three years preceding their studies and must self-fund their education as overseas students.

The scholarship is applicable to students enrolled in full-time postgraduate taught programmes at the University of Sheffield, including those from the University of Sheffield International College (USIC), subject to the scholarship's other conditions. However, the £7,000 reduction does not cover Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) and Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) courses, Erasmus Mundus courses, or programmes with specific exclusions as per the university's scholarship terms.

Two-year Master's programmes are eligible for the scholarship in the second year, provided students complete the first year successfully. However, the scholarship cannot be deferred, and students who postpone their entry year will forfeit the award. While the scholarship significantly reduces the tuition fee burden, Indian students must still meet the university's academic admission criteria and consider living and visa costs associated with studying abroad.
