Ukraine strikes Russian aerospace facility and MiG-31 base in overnight attacks

Ukrainian forces launched overnight strikes against two key Russian military targets, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The first target was a rocket and space center in Samara, hit with Flamingo missiles. The second was the Savasleyka military airfield in the Nizhny Novgorod region, which houses Russian missile carriers.

The airstrikes caused damage to an oil facility at Ust-Luga. Reports of explosions and fires emerged from both areas. Russian MiG-31 fighter jets, capable of deploying Kinzhal ballistic missiles, were stationed at Savasleyka. Samara regional governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev confirmed missile hits on an industrial facility, though the precise location was not disclosed.

The strategic strikes follow a pattern of recent Ukrainian attacks on Russian military and energy infrastructure, aiming to weaken Russia's war efforts.
