Tricolour Flies High In Beijing As Indian Envoy Vikram Doraiswami Leads 80th Independence Day Celebrations In China | Video

Beijing witnessed the 80th Independence Day celebrations on Saturday with the tricolour being hoisted at the Embassy of India by Indian Ambassador to China Vikram Doraiswami. Despite the pouring rain, a large number of Indian diaspora members attended the event. The Tiranga, or Indian flag, rises from Indian shores at the break of dawn, symbolizing national pride and unity.

The celebrations continued at the Embassy premises where Doraiswami read President Droupadi Murmu's address to the nation. He also distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions organized in connection with the Independence Day festivities. Following the formal program, children of members of the Indian diaspora participated in cultural performances, adding a festive atmosphere to the occasion.

In Shanghai, a similar ceremony was held where Indian Consul General Pratik Mathur hoisted the tricolour. The event was attended by 400 members of the Indian diaspora and Friends of India, as per a post on X by the Indian mission. These celebrations mark the historic journey of #SuryapathTiranga, inspiring Indians to spread the fervor of #HarGharTiranga across China.
