England batsman Ollie Pope expressed his disappointment at the jeers from England fans during the first three Tests of the Ashes series against Australia. He stated that he felt like a "last Test, mate" from the crowd, which affected his performance. Pope, who last scored a century against India in the first Test at Headingley, has been recalled to the England Test squad after being dropped during the 2025-2026 Ashes.

He is among the three players selected for the first two Tests against Pakistan, alongside Dan Lawrence. Pope hopes to prove his worth and be a part of the final XI against Pakistan starting August 19. He acknowledges that his recent performances have not been up to the mark and vows to learn from his mistakes.
