‘Teach you a lesson’: Meerut Blinkit agent thrashed over late grocery delivery

A 19-year-old Blinkit delivery agent in Meerut faced a violent confrontation last Friday evening after delivering groceries late to a resident of the Bhawanpur area. Amit Yadav, a student and Blinkit agent, recounted the incident, stating he was verbally abused and threatened by the customer, Yaman, upon arrival. Yadav explained that he had only received the order five minutes prior and informed the customer of the delay due to the shopkeeper still packing the items.

However, Yaman became angry and threatened to "teach me a lesson" once he delivered the order. Upon reaching the residence, Yadav was slapped outside by the customer and then forcibly dragged inside. Yadav's wife was present during the confrontation. Yadav alleges that the customer threatened to frame him for a false sexual assault accusation if he disclosed the incident to anyone.

The police were alerted after a video of the assault circulated on social media, drawing attention to the incident. Circle officer Sudhir Singh confirmed the police are currently investigating Yaman, who has been charged with intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace, criminal intimidation, and voluntarily causing hurt.
